Sify with its decade of experience in learning industry and with its available domain expertise has rolled out this 'Learning Design Certificate Program' to meet the growing demand for qualified 'Instructional Designers'. Course Overview
The Learning Design Certificate Program (LDCP) aims at building and strengthening instructional design skills for individuals who are willing to explore elearning and pursue 'Instructional Design' as a career. LDCP is a 6 months credit-based certificate course offered in collaboration with Loyola Institute of Vocational Education (LIVE), Loyola College.

Course Schedule
LDCP is offered twice a year (July and Jan) and each batch would include a maximum of 15 participants.

Loyola College LIVE

Loyola Institute of Vocational Education (LIVE), an autonomous institute of Loyola College, Chennai was inaugurated in the year 1996 to offer vocational education relevant to present times at affordable costs. LIVE enables the students to strive for academic excellence and helps them secure employment in various specialized sectors. LIVE offers job oriented Certificate courses, Diploma courses, and PG Diploma courses in various branches.

Course Coverage
The course consists of a series of five workshops sequenced to build learning design skill sets in participants in an incremental fashion.

Workshop Name
Workshop I: Learning Design Orientation The workshop aims at providing the participants with an overview of the evolution of learning design as it stands today. This includes discussion of topics on learning theories and models and the historical significance of the work done by learning theorists in this field. Apart from serving as a primer to the remaining workshops in the LDCP series, this workshop provides an orientation to the technologies used in elearning.

Workshop II: Analysis & Design

The workshop aims at providing the participants with working knowledge of analyzing and designing the course after performing the following tasks: Need analysis, audience profiling, and content analysis. Further, it helps the participants decide on the design of the course based on the mind mapping and 4-quadrant techniques.
Workshop III: Development The workshop deals with the development phase of the course development process. Here, the focus would be on the 5C’s of writing. This would be followed by intense sessions on visualization techniques and the storyboarding process.
Workshop IV: Assessment
The workshop deals with the evaluation phase as described in the ADDIE model. Here, the participants will be provided with intense training on writing assessments for web-based training.
Workshop V: ILT
The ILT workshop, the last in the LDCP series, is aimed at training participants on designing programs for instructor led training. This would include topics pertaining to creating effective presentations and preparing the trainer and participant manual.

Course Handouts/Participant Manual (a gist of content covered) will be provided to the participants, which enables them to revise and refresh the concepts learnt in the classroom session.

The Training Team
Ramesh Krishnan
The Learning Design Certificate Program has been wholly conceptualized, designed and developed by him. Ramesh has over 10 years of experience in handling information and instructional solutions for services and product organizations. A Computer Science engineer by education, he chose training as a profession by choice. Currently pursuing his postgraduate program in training and development, he is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and holds an International Certification in Training Skills from the Institute of City & Guilds, London. Ramesh has designed and authored courses across verticals including but not limited to management, engineering, healthcare, and technology.

Dr.Paulsharma Chakravarthy
Paul has over 10 years of experience in research, training, and e-learning. He has a rich experience in instructional design, blended learning solutions, and courseware development. He has worked in various types of projects like Virtual Learning, WBTs, Simulations, Scenario based learning, Podcasts, Object oriented learning design, Game based learning, and Mobile learning. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics, has UGC certification for Lectureship and Research Fellowship, and has involved in structuring the bioinformatics curriculum for various academic and research institutes. His core competencies includes innovative thinking, customer focus, and strong research aptitude.

Dr. Vijayanandraj
Vijayanandraj has a total experience of 7+ years in synchronized and asynchronized training, teaching, and research. As a domain expert and learning designer, he has an extensive experience in training needs analysis, instructional design, course and curriculum development for scientists and lab technicians working in Pharmaceuticals. He is actively involved in charting out new instructional design strategies and has focused on creating effective training materials for adult learning. He has a Phd in Microbiology from the University of Madras and his key strength lies in integrating subject matter expertise, instructional design, and technology to develop and deliver effective training solutions.

Hannah Jayapriya
Hannah has a decade's experience in English language training and editing. She has worked in various publishing houses and eLearning companies. She has edited school and college textbooks, WBTs, ILTs, and all types of learning products developed in the eLearning industry.At the organizational level, she defines writing standards and style guides for various projects. Through her language reviews of the eLearning courses, she ensures adherence to standards and improves the overall quality. She also develops language benchmarking tests that evaluate writing skills. She develops and offers language training to writers based on their proficiency in the language. The language training offered is aligned with the needs of the Learning Design industry. She has worked for various clients, such as Microsoft, Mercury, Dell, Autodesk, GE Services, etc. Her core competencies include customer focus, language skills, and training.
